Here at Te Ora Ake we have a philosophy that the quality of our programmes are dependant upon the quality of our staff. So we greatly value our staff and fully recognise the amazing contribution that they make. All of our Te Ora Ake staff members have been hand picked by our Board of Trustees for their proven experience & skills in caring for and working with children. Every staff member, including our entire Board of Trustees has been completely background checked by the Police Vetting Service Centre and deemed suitable for working with children. We take the care and well-being of your children very seriously and take every precaution to make sure that they are completely safe whilst in our care. Let us take a moment to introduce you to the following amazing people... Annette (Netsy) is our Programme Coordinator and does a wonderful job at organising everything for our holiday and after school programmes ensuring that everything runs smoothly. As a mother of three beautiful children, Annette has a real heart to see the children on our programmes not only enjoy themselves but to also benefit from the content. Netsy brings a vast range of experience with her, she runs parenting courses and has vast experience in looking after children through various programmes.
Annette liases with parents and children alike to make sure that we are delivering as good a package as we possibly can, putting a great deal of effort into making sure that everything is running like smoothly. She strategises and forms events and weekly programmes together, as well as takes care of the administration side of the programmes.  Kerri Bowman Kerri is one of our Programme Supervisors and does a wonderful job at making things fun and productive for the children involved in the after school & holiday programmes. She brings a tremendous amount of enthusiasm to the table along with a heart to really see the children benefit from their involvement. Kerri was instrumental in the development and launching of our Te Ora Ake programmes and her experience has proven to be invaluable, she is a fantastic person and we are incredibly fortunate to have her on board.  Samuel Barrett Sam is a great person who really enjoys being with the children and having fun. He has been promoted to supervisor of our senior programme (Te Ora Ake Tuakana) and we are excited about all the giftings that Sam will bring in this role. Sam is talented in music and drama/performance and is such a good role model and leader for the children. We enjoy having Sam with us on the programme and appreciate all the positive input he gives to the children.  Daniel Daly Dan is another fantastic leader who just loves and encourages the tamariki. He is exciting to be around, fired up with a passion to see our tamariki dream big. Dan has a playfulness about him that the children respond well to but also manages to keep the balance and be a fantastic role model. We love having him as part of our programme and appreciate all the enthusiasm he brings with him.  Joshua van der Schaaf Josh is another leader working with the seniors who has a real heart for children and is passionate about helping them achieve to their full potential. He is a very kind and patient man who puts a lot of time and effort into making the time the tamariki are with us the best it could possibly be. Josh has a lot of experience in looking after children and is a real asset to our programme.  Christoper Wastney Chris is another awesome leader who mainly works on the Holiday Programme. Chris is training to be a teacher and he has a real talent and heart for children. Chris is passionate that children rise up and be all they can be and is a great role model to them. He brings a maturity to the programme that is fantastic and deals with the children with a great calmness and kind heart. Chris is very popular with the children and we appreciate the qualities he brings to the programme. Emily is a fantastic leader working with the junior programme. She is positive and uplifiting to be around and is gifted in looking after children. Emily is full of energy to keep the kids busy and is enthusiastic about all she does with the programme. Emily is a fantastic role model and we love having her on the programme. Allan joined us in term 2 and is an engaging, energetic leader on the junior programme. Allan is also employed as a teacher aide in several schools and brings enormous passion and enthusiasm with all his dealings with the children. His awesome smile and friendly nature make him a hit with the tamariki and is a very welcome addition to Te Ora Ake. Liam has joined us for our holiday programme and has proven to be a total winner with the children. He brings a great deal of enthusiasm and humor as well as a level headed approach with keeping the programme running smoothly. Liam has a real heart for the kids and is an asset to Te Ora Ake and our programmes.
